It gives me great pleasure to announce that Charlie Hay has been appointed AfriKids UK’s new CEO. Charlie has been an integral part of the team for over eight years, helping develop our programmes and social enterprises in Ghana, and since 2014, she has led our UK operations and communications as COO and helped establish our new International Leadership Team.
Through a comprehensive and intense interview process undertaken with the UK Board of Trustees, Charlie’s clarity of vision, deep understanding of both the organisation and sector and blueprint for ongoing success shone through as exceptional. The decision to appoint Charlie was made unanimously by the UK Board of Trustees, and I can think of no one better to take AfriKids UK and our partnership with AfriKids Ghana forward.

Farewell to our departing CEO, Amy Parker
In January we had the sad news that AfriKids UK CEO, Amy Parker will be leaving us. Amy has been a huge asset to AfriKids since taking the helm from our Founder, Georgie Fienberg in 2014; streamlining our UK operations and leading the development of our new, beyond-2018 strategy. She leaves us with a very strong platform for AfriKids today and in the future. We will all miss Amy’s infectious enthusiasm and trademark ‘joie de vivre’! And wish her every happiness and success in her next endeavours.
