AfriKids Documentary

‘How to make a difference in Africa’ produced by BAFTA and Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker, Andrew Smith (Fleeting Year Films), shines the light on two decades of transformational work with children, families and communities in northern Ghana, led by child rights NGO, AfriKids.

With a simple approach of listening to local people and empowering them to deliver their own ideas for change, AfriKids has given people the support to transform their own lives, while tackling some of the biggest challenges children face, including child mining, sexual exploitation, living on the streets and saving the lives of so called “spirit-children”.

Introducing you to some of the inspirational local people AfriKids has worked with, as well as the unique, locally-led models and “secret ingredients” which make AfriKids so impactful - today the leading organisation for child rights in northern Ghana ‘How to make a difference in Africa’ powerfully illustrates how with the right support, people have the opportunity to transform their own lives and escape poverty, for good.
