The Ghana Education Service

 
One of AfriKids Ghana’s key partners in the Upper East Region of Ghana is the Ghana Education Service (GES), particularly the district offices for Bolgatanga, Bongo, Talensi Nabdman and Kassena Nankana East and West where our area programmes are operational. AfriKids Ghana views itself as an important part of the social welfare system of the region and is increasingly viewed as a key partner for the GES.

Through the Education Bridge, the area programmes are working closely with the GES on a day to day basis and are included in discussions and consultations on many key policy and programmatic issues. The GES locally is proactive in its engagement with NGOs and often provides the forums to ensure that NGO projects are complementary to each other and the GES’ own work with no unnecessary overlap. This relationship and way of working is really important in ensuring the work AfriKids Ghana designs is relevant and helpful in meeting the many goals we share with the GES.
